Abstract: 1. Villages and small towns can take a leap-forward path in the transformation process towards the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals; 2. The urbanization rate in China is already over 60%, and by fully tapping the potential of villages and towns, the insufficient infrastructure can be turned into an advantage for urbanization; 3. The low-carbon design of villages and towns can leverage on the basic characteristics of low density, small scale and close to nature and find a low-cost solution, creating economic opportunities while achieving a low carbon emission and high-quality lifestyle.
