MK Leung has held the position of Director of Sustainable Design at Ronald Lu & Partners since 2012 and is responsible for steering the practice’s sustainability credentials. Under his leadership, the team successfully delivered the first ever zero carbon building in Hong Kong, a pioneering sustainability master plan for Phase 3 of Hong Kong Science Park complete with carbon neutrality roadmap, and an award-winning community-centric vertical campus for the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) which is showcased in the World Green Building’s (WorldGBC) case study library. MK frequently consults for the Hong Kong SAR Government on the design of low energy residential buildings, infrastructure design and construction under extreme temperatures, and urban construction models including sponge city. MK was awarded the Laureate for the SIA-Uniseal G-Architect by the Singapore Institute of Architects in 2014. He is highly recognized for his specialized knowledge and integrated design skills in ecological building design, ranging from high-performance new buildings, green retrofit of existing buildings, sustainability master planning and research. In addition to his role at Ronald Lu & Partners, MK has served as a Director of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) since 2016 and has been Chairman of the Sustainable Development Committee of HKGBC since 2020.
