Jonathan is a Partner with a passion for exploring the relationship between the built environment and peoples’ needs.

Developing his studies in Asia, Jonathan led Foster + Partners' first interdisciplinary team whilst also exploring the city fabric of the Nanshan Technology Finance City Masterplan which led to the opening of Foster + Partners’ Shenzhen office.

Jon gained his BSc and BArch at Cardiff University, graduating in 1997, and joined Foster + Partners in 2001 to work on the Bishops Square development at Spitalfields, one of the largest mixed-use redevelopment opportunities in the City of London. He subsequently worked on the new headquarters for Willis on Lime Street, London. Open and integrated at street level, its shops and cafés extend the spirit of nearby Leadenhall Market. He went on to work on a masterplan for the area to the east of Battersea Power Station in London, and more recently, the Battersea Roof Gardens project.

Jon led the team of architects on the SNB Head Office – located at the heart of Financial Plaza in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; the mixed-use masterplan and office development Hongqiao Vantone Sunnyworld Centre, in Shanghai, China; and the Xiamen Airline Headquarters and luxury five-star hotel towers which are located at the heart of Xiamen, China.
