Near & Distant

Designers with a sense of social responsibility have more possibilities than ever before to address a wider audience, grander issues, more subtle contradictions, more remote areas, and a more distant future... Design will not only provide a product, a poster, a fashion collection, but also a pattern, a mechanism, a way of thinking. This greatly expands the significance of design, making both the "near" and the "distant" relevant to us. Hosted by the Urban Design School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts - Trend Design Research Studio, the "Near & Distant - 2023 Sustainable Design Exhibition" leads a group of young designers and their highly creative, love-filled and potential-rich works from the perspective of design education. This exhibition will be held at the Beijing Exhibition Center, the venue for the Sustainable Design Summit, providing a stage for the young forces of sustainable design in China.
